Texas bar shooting leaves 3 dead

At least two people were killed and 14 others were injured when a gunman opened fire at a bar in Austin, Texas, United States. Austin police said the suspected attacker was also killed in an exchange of gunfire with officers at the scene.

The incident occurred around 1:40 am local time on Sunday, March 1, at the Buford's bar located in the entertainment district on Sixth Street in Austin.

Robert Luckritz, head of emergency medical services for Austin-Travis County, said paramedics arrived at the scene within 57 seconds. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, including the attacker .

The 14 injured are receiving treatment at hospitals. Three of them are in critical condition .

Police have not released any information about the identity of the attacker or the motive behind the attack.

Austin Mayor Kirk Watson praised the police and rescuers for their swift response, saying it undoubtedly saved lives . The FBI has stated that the shooting is being investigated as a "potential" act of terrorism .
