The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Texas has climbed to 104, with dozens more still unaccounted for, according to reports from CNN and confirmed by local officials.

Rescue operations remain underway along the Guadalupe River, which surged to the height of a two-story building following torrential rains early Friday morning. The flooding began on July 4 and has since devastated several communities in Kerr County and surrounding areas.

Among those still missing are ten young girls who were attending Camp Mystic, a popular summer camp in Kerr County, local authorities said.

The U.S. National Weather Service declared an emergency for parts of the region after rainfall totals reached nearly 30 centimeters (approximately 12 inches) in a matter of hours. Floodwaters rose rapidly, overwhelming roads, homes, and infrastructure.

President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that he had declared a state of emergency in Kerr County to facilitate federal support for ongoing rescue and recovery efforts.

According to NBC News, nearly five million people across Texas remain at risk as heavy rains and thunderstorms continue to batter the already saturated region.

Emergency crews and volunteers are working around the clock to locate the missing and provide aid to those affected by the unprecedented disaster.
