Thalapathy on path to CM in debut election, flooded with wishes from stars
Thalapathy Vijay's political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has achieved an unprecedented success in the Tamil Nadu assembly election. The actor is now just a few steps away from becoming Chief Minister. Leading stars of the South Indian film industry see this as the dawn of a new era and are flooding the actor-turned-politician with congratulatory messages.
Election results show that Vijay's party has won 107 seats out of 234 in Tamil Nadu. Although TVK is still short of the 118 seats needed to form government, this performance in its maiden election signals a major shift in Tamil politics. Vijay himself won by a huge margin from the Perambur constituency and has already received his official certificate of victory.
Legendary actor Rajinikanth expressed his delight, saying, "My heartfelt congratulations to Thalapathy for the massive victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly election."
Actor Dhanush praised Vijay, saying that receiving such love and support from the people in his first election is truly remarkable. According to him, Thalapathy is firmly progressing on the path to forming government and serving the people of Tamil Nadu.
Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman viewed this political victory positively. In a detailed message, he expressed optimism that Thalapathy will emerge as an ideal leader, leading Tamil Nadu towards corruption-free politics, social justice and equality. He also expressed belief that Vijay's goal of transforming Chennai into a city of art and prosperity will be successful.
Telugu film stars Ram Charan and Rashmika Mandanna also expressed their delight over Vijay's new identity. Rashmika congratulated him, saying, "I am thrilled and happy to see this new chapter of yours." Veteran actor-politician Kamal Haasan also praised the public's trust in Vijay and wished him a bright future.
This election is being seen as a turning point in Vijay's career. He is being considered a successor to MG Ramachandran or Jayalalithaa in terms of leveraging film popularity for political success. Venkatesh Daggubati, Chiranjeevi, Kajal Aggarwal, Mahesh Babu and Anirudh Ravichander are among the other stars who have extended their best wishes.
