South India's popular actor and leader of a new political party, Thalapathy Vijay, has made a splash in the political arena with a message at the conference of his party 'Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam' in Madurai.

He called the BJP led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'fascist' party and declared, 'This fight is not just about power politics, but an ideological fight'.

Vijay alleged that the BJP is using religion as a weapon of division and weakening democracy. In his words, the BJP is his biggest ideological opponent at present.

India's top media outlets - PTI, ANI, NTV, Hindustan Times, Indian Express - have all given Vijay's statement a lot of importance. The report mentions that along with the BJP, Vijay has also called the DMK a political enemy. However, he clarified that his fight with the DMK is limited to the political arena, but the conflict with the BJP is mainly at the ideological level.

The core principles of his party are equality, free thought, secularism and social justice in society. Which he claims is completely opposite to the BJP's position.

Since its inception in 2024, Vijay's party has rapidly expanded its influence in Tamil Nadu politics and has gained the support of crores of youth. The cheers and applause of supporters at every speech of Vijay in the Madurai meeting prove the strength of his popularity.

Hindustan Times wrote that Vijay's speech will create a stir in national politics.

And the Indian Express commented that the words 'fascist BJP' from the mouth of a star politician will not only make headlines but also create heated debate. Although there was no immediate reaction from the BJP or other major parties, political analysts believe that this statement will become the center of discussion in national politics beyond the borders of South India.

Standing on the stage in Madurai, Vijay declared, "We cannot remain silent spectators anymore. We must stand up against the fascist BJP now."

Many in political circles believe that his announcement is not just a speech, but the beginning of a new chapter in Indian politics.
