Thalapathy Vijay returns to big screen with 'Jan Nayagan'
Thalapathy Vijay's new film 'Jan Nayagan' is set to release in theatres on July 23, marking his return to the big screen after stepping into politics and becoming Chief Minister. After a long wait and various hurdles, the makers have finally announced the release date.
The film's release had been uncertain for some time due to censorship-related complications that prevented it from hitting theatres as scheduled. Later, the HD version of the film was leaked online. Overcoming all obstacles, the release date has now been finalised.
In the recently released poster, Vijay is seen in a police officer's uniform, holding a sword, which has already generated discussion among fans. The makers wrote alongside the poster: "Forged in fire, built in time, crafted for history."
Directed by H. Vinod, 'Jan Nayagan' features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani and Sunil.
Vijay plays the role of a former police officer and convict named Vethri Kondan, who adopts a young girl and raises her to be brave and independent. His character later becomes embroiled in a battle against a corrupt power structure driven by control and authority.
Since Vijay became active in politics, 'Jan Nayagan' is being seen as potentially his last film. For his fans, it is not just another film but a significant milestone in his long cinematic journey. It remains to be seen how 'Jan Nayagan' performs at the box office after its July 23 release.
