Thank you Bangladesh, we love you: Brazilian star Cunha
Brazil won yesterday's thrilling match against Japan by 2-1 goals. After securing a ticket to the last 16, Brazilian star Mateus Cunha expressed his gratitude and love for the country's football fans by confronting a Bangladeshi journalist in the mixed zone.
While talking to the media after giving a fighting performance on the field, the Bangladeshi journalist showed Cunha a video on his mobile phone, where thousands of Bangladeshis can be seen celebrating after Brazil's victory.
The star forward was surprised and emotional to see such sincere love from the people of a distant country for his beloved team.
Cunha said in an excited voice after watching the video, 'Wow! This is incredible! I'm sorry that I don't know your language. But I want to thank you all very much. This is a really great moment. Thank you Bangladesh!'
He also said to the Bangladesh fans, 'I want you all to come and watch our game one day. Much love, a big kiss and a hug from me to all of you. Stay by my side, we love you too.’
In response to a question about the team’s coach Carlo Ancelotti in the interview, Cunha shared his experience. ‘He is always really calm. We all know his experience in football and how great a person he is. His calm nature at half-time gives us patience and helps us get back into the match. That is his greatest quality.’
Brazil is one of the most popular teams in world football, and the frenzy that is seen around the Seleção in faraway Bangladesh is now catching the attention of world stars as well. Cunha’s message has already gone viral on social media, which has spread new excitement among Bangladeshi fans.
