‘The Challenge’ two-time winner Tyler Duckworth found dead in North Dakota

Tyler Duckworth, a two-time winner of MTV’s popular reality competition show The Challenge, has died at the age of 44.

Duckworth was found unresponsive in the bathroom of a home in North Dakota on Tuesday afternoon (August 10) and was declared dead at the scene, according to local authorities. No one else was present when he was found, and the death was initially recorded as an unattended death. The cause of death has not been disclosed and remains under investigation.

The reality TV star had appeared to be in good spirits shortly before his death. He attended The Challenge Mania event in Minneapolis on July 31 and shared a message of love and gratitude with his followers on Instagram on August 2.

Duckworth rose to prominence after joining The Challenge in 2006. He went on to win the Cutthroat season in 2010 and Rivals in 2011, establishing himself as one of the show’s most recognisable competitors. After a lengthy break from the franchise, he returned in 2021 for The Challenge: All Stars 2.

In later years, Duckworth stepped away from the entertainment industry and worked as a teacher at a local middle school in North Dakota.

His sudden death has prompted an outpouring of grief from former castmates, colleagues and fans, who have paid tribute to the reality TV veteran.
