'The last few days have broken my heart': Alia Bhatt

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has broken her silence to express solidarity with the ongoing student protests in India over the alleged NEET question paper leak. Praising the courage and determination of the protesting students, she said the events of the past few days have both broken her heart and given her new hope.

In a social media post on Thursday, Alia wrote, "The last few days have broken my heart, and also filled it with hope, over and over again. Behind every student standing firm in their position is a dream, a family's hope, and countless stories of sacrifice. They are not just representing themselves but also representing everyone who stands by them. At the same time, they are paving a better path for future generations."

Describing the movement as inspiring, she added, "Their courage humbles me. Their resilience holds up a mirror to all of us, asking us—are we truly listening to the people who will inherit and build this country tomorrow?"

Alia concluded the post with: "For the students. By the students. The future is theirs."

Meanwhile, actress Huma Qureshi and her brother, actor-producer Saqib Saleem, showed solidarity with the protesters by visiting the ongoing agitation at Delhi's Jantar Mantar late Thursday night. In Mumbai, actor Imran Khan also joined the protest against the NEET paper leak.

Earlier, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had also expressed support for the protesting students through a social media post.
