Theatre director Dipu Hazra gets married

Popular theatre director Dipu Hazra tied the knot on Valentine's Day. The wedding ceremony was held on a small scale on Saturday, February 14, at a restaurant in Dhaka with family arrangements.

The bride, Sathi Akhtar, is a final-year honours student in the English department at Dhaka City College. Although the marriage was settled through family agreement, their relationship began three years ago through an introduction on Facebook. Friendship developed from there, later turning into love—and the couple decided to marry on Valentine's Day.

After the wedding, Dipu Hazra said their mutual understanding is good and Sathi is very caring. He believes that a mindset of mutual compromise is essential for a marital relationship to endure. He expressed hope that their new life together will pass beautifully.

He mentioned that a large celebration was not possible due to the current situation and the significance of the day. The theatre director also noted that plans are in place for a bigger event later when time and opportunity allow.
