Theft at actor Fazlur Rahman Babu’s house
Fazlur Rahman Babu, actor and singer, has alleged that a theft took place at his house in Faridpur. The main power line cable, AC cables and various other items kept outside the house have been stolen, he alleged.
Officer-in-Charge of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Md Mahmudul Hasan informed that a general diary (GD) has been filed over this incident at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station on Tuesday.
Fazlur Rahman Babu’s house is located in the West Alipur area of Faridpur town. The name of the house is ‘Kamranga’.
Fazlur Rahman Babu said that on Monday night when he went to his house in Faridpur he found there was no electricity. Later going outside he saw that the main power line cable had been cut and taken away. Then going to the rooftop of the house he found that the AC cables were also missing. Besides, some more items kept outside the house have also been stolen.
He said that the police were informed immediately after knowing about the matter.
Fazlur Rahman Babu lives in Dhaka with his family members. He goes to the Faridpur house once or twice a month. Last time about 20 to 25 days ago he went to the house, stayed for two days and returned to Dhaka.
He said, ‘This is my birthplace. That is why I rush here from time to time. Earlier it was possible to stay here peacefully. But due to the recent increase in theft incidents we are suffering from insecurity.’
Blaming local drug addicts for the theft incident, the actor said that he has come to know that the same type of theft has also taken place in several other houses around his house. He also alleged that a section of local drug addicts is committing theft in various houses to arrange money for buying drugs.
Officer-in-Charge of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Md Mahmudul Hasan said that Fazlur Rahman Babu has filed a GD at the police station over the theft of power cables. Police have started working to identify the persons involved in the theft and bring them under the law.
