Three Bangladeshi nationals lost their lives in a road accident in Malaysia, while two others were injured. The accident took place at around 7:30pm local time on Friday (August 1) on the Kuantan Highway in Pahang state.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sabir Hasan (30), Mohammad Jahid Hasan (21), and Abdullah (24). The injured are Mohammad Habib Biswas (45) and Moniram Chandra Bas (40).

Kuantan's Acting District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohammad Adli Mat Daud, said, "The accident occurred around 7:30 PM. A Toyota Avanza car was heading from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur. While driving straight, the car suddenly lost control and veered off the road, causing this tragic incident. Three people were declared dead at the scene."

According to initial police investigations, the driver, Mohammad Sabir Hasan, did not have a valid driving license, and the car's road tax had expired in May. The police have filed a case under Section 41(1) of Malaysia's Road Transport Act of 1987 and have begun an investigation.

The police are trying to identify the witnesses to the accident and the employers of the deceased and injured. Additionally, with the help of Malaysia’s Puspakom, the mechanical condition of the car will be examined.

The police have warned the public to drive according to the rules and to thoroughly check the vehicle's condition before starting a journey, especially when traveling on highways at night.
