Three Big Bash teams show interest in Nahid Rana
Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana could not play in the Australia tour. As a result, the Big Bash League teams did not get the opportunity to see him from the front. However, the teams had already become interested after seeing his performance. Therefore, multiple franchises are showing interest in including Nahid Rana in their teams before the start of the new season.
Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades have shown interest in getting Nahid Rana. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is not interested in giving him a no-objection certificate (NOC) right now. The new season of the Big Bash League will be held in January-February. Before that, Bangladesh has several important matches of the Test Championship. Therefore, the BCB does not want to take any decision in a hurry.
Bangladesh will play two Tests against West Indies at home and two more Tests against South Africa in December. Nahid Rana can be one of the main weapons of the pace bowling department in these four Tests. Therefore, the BCB also wants to remain cautious about the workload management of this pacer.
Earlier, Nahid had sustained an injury while playing a relatively unimportant T20 match during the Zimbabwe tour. Due to that injury, he could not play in the Test Championship match in Australia either. The BCB does not want to take any new risk with this pacer who has recently recovered from the injury.
So far, two Bangladeshi cricketers have played in the Big Bash League. Shakib Al Hasan has played for Melbourne Renegades and Rishad Hossain for Hobart Hurricanes. Nahid Rana has also played in the Pakistan Super League earlier.
