Three BNP MPs elected from same village in Raozan
Three candidates of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) elected in Chattogram’s 13th National Parliamentary Election hail from the same village in Raozan upazila, triggering celebrations in the area.
The three lawmakers, all residents of Gohira village, secured victory with the party’s “Dhaner Shish” symbol in three separate constituencies.
In Chattogram-6 (Raozan), Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury won with 1,12,237 votes, defeating Bangladesh Islami Front candidate Elias Noori, who received 27,146 votes, and Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Md. Shahjahan Manju, who secured 22,118 votes.
In Chattogram-7 (Rangunia), his nephew Hummam Quader Chowdhury was elected with 1,00,242 votes, while his nearest rival, Jamaat candidate Dr. ATM Rezaul Karim, garnered 39,485 votes.
In Chattogram-10 (Double Mooring, Halishahar and Khulshi), Saeed Al Noman won with 1,21,374 votes, defeating Jamaat candidate Shamsuzzaman Helali, who received 74,407 votes. Saeed Al Noman is the son of late minister Abdullah Al Noman.
