Three people have been killed in a landmine explosion at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, May 24, in the Baishfari 42-pillar area of the Ghumdhum border. Preliminary reports indicate that all three victims were members of local indigenous communities. Their identities could not be known immediately. Border Guard Bangladesh's Ramu Sector Commander Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the incident. Local sources said the victims inadvertently triggered the mine in the border area. BGB and local administration are working to identify the deceased and complete subsequent legal formalities.

বাংলাদেশ-মিয়ানমার সীমান্তের বান্দরবানের নাইক্ষ্যংছড়িতে স্থল মাইন বিস্ফোরণে ৩ জন নিহত হয়েছেন। আজ রোববার (২৪ মে) দুপুরে উপজেলার ঘুমধুম সীমান্তের বাইশফাঁড়ি ৪২ নম্বর পিলার এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে। প্রাথমিকভাবে জানা গেছে, নিহত ৩ জনই স্থানীয় ক্ষুদ্র নৃগোষ্ঠীর সদস্য। তবে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে তাদের বিস্তারিত পরিচয় জানা যায়নি। বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশের (বিজিবি) রামু সেক্টরের সেক্টর কমান্ডার কর্নেল মহিউদ্দিন আহমেদ ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন। স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, সীমান্ত এলাকায় অসতর্কতাবশত মাইন বিস্ফোরণের শিকার হন তারা। বিজিবি ও স্থানীয় প্রশাসন নিহতদের পরিচয় শনাক্ত এবং পরবর্তী আইনি প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করতে কাজ করছে।
