Three teenage friends killed in Tangail road crash

Three friends have been killed in a road accident in Basail, Tangail. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, May 24, on the Basail-Bhatkura regional road in the Bangra Kalibari area.

The deceased have been identified as Takbir Mia, 16, son of expatriate Rafiq Mia; Md Limon, 14, son of Shaukat Ali; and Simon, 14, son of Sulaiman Mia. They were students of Kortia HM Institution School and College.

According to police and family sources, a speeding unregistered CNG heading towards Tangail collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the Bangra area. Takbir Mia died on the spot. Critically injured Limon and Simon were taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Limon dead. Simon was being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment but died on the way.

Basail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Kabir said the bodies have been examined. A case will be filed upon receiving a complaint.
