Ticket sale begins for Bangladesh's Lord's Test against England

Bangladesh are set to play a Test on English soil after a long gap of 17 years. Bangladesh and England will face each other at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in May next year. The ticket sales for the match have already commenced.

Lord's Cricket Ground announced on Wednesday on its official website that the ticket ballot for general spectators has been opened for international matches in 2027. Through this, fans will have the opportunity to secure tickets for the summer international matches to be held at the 'Home of Cricket'.

Spectators can apply for the general ballot until October 26. Successful applicants will be notified via email in the first phase in early November. Selected spectators in the first phase will have until November 17 to purchase tickets. Regular sales will then begin on December 10.

In 2027, Lord's will host the Bangladesh-England Test along with men's and women's Ashes matches. An ODI between England and New Zealand will also be held at the iconic venue.

Bangladesh's last Test against England was in 2016. The two-match series in Bangladesh ended 1-1. Prior to that, Bangladesh last played a Test on English soil in 2010. Thus, next year's Lord's Test will end Bangladesh's 17-year wait for a Test in England.

Lord's also holds a memorable moment for Bangladesh cricket. In 2010, Tamim Iqbal had scored a century off just 94 balls at this very ground. His celebration after reaching three figures remains vivid in the memories of cricket fans. Now, Tamim serves as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. When Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehedi Hasan Miraz take the field at Lord's next May, those memories may come flooding back to him.

Bangladesh recently concluded their two-match Test series against Australia in Australia, ending 1-1. It was Bangladesh's first Test meeting with Australia in nine years.
