After a morale-boosting win against Sri Lanka in the Super Four, Bangladesh’s cricket team is brimming with confidence, dreaming of another final. Today, in their second Super Four match of the Asia Cup, the Tigers will face undefeated India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match begins at 8:30pm Bangladesh time and will be broadcast live on T-Sports and Nagorik TV.

Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons has been candid: India is not invincible. “It’s definitely possible to beat them,” he said. Simmons believes that if his team capitalizes on opportunities, a win against India is within reach.

While India holds the statistical and strength advantage, Bangladesh is buoyed by strong recent performances. The Tigers have delivered the tournament’s best bowling so far, ensuring they step onto the field mentally prepared. With multiple matches already played in Dubai this week, the pitch is expected to be slow, potentially increasing Bangladesh’s chances.

Bangladesh had qualified for the Super Four as Group B runners-up after defeating Hong Kong and Afghanistan. The Tigers continued their strong form by beating Sri Lanka by four wickets, avenging a six-wicket loss to the same team in the group stage.

India, meanwhile, has won four out of six matches in the tournament, including two against arch-rivals Pakistan. But Simmons remains unfazed. “Every team has the potential to beat India. We are not worried about their past performances. This is a new match, and our focus is on that,” he said.

He added, “In this three-and-a-half-hour match, we will give our best and aim to disrupt India’s plans to secure a win.”
