Tourism fair, beach carnival in Cox’s Bazar from Sept 27

The longest unbroken beach of the world in Cox’s Bazar will wear a colourful look with the beginning of the weeklong Tourism Fair and Beach Carnival.
Marking the World Tourism Day, the Tourism Fair and Beach Carnival, will begin in Cox’s Bazar on September 27. The event will continue till October 3.
Thousands of tourists are set to enjoy the new look of the beach and discounts offered by the beach stakeholders.
Cox’s Bazar district administration and beach management committee (BMC) have jointly organised the fair and carnival at the Laboni Point of the beach to promote tourism.
The festival will officially be inaugurated at 10:00am on the day releasing balloons in the sky.
A colourful rally will be brought out from Sugandha to Laboni Point with the participation of thousands of people.
The rally with beach bikes, horse carriages, bands and motor processions will pass through Laboni Point on the beach, Sugandha Point, hotel-motel zone and will end after returning to Laboni Point again.
Several stalls will be set up at Laboni Point to make the tourism fair attractive to visitors. Cox’s Bazar tourism-related items, including pickles, shutki (dry fish) and pitha (cake), will be displayed in these stalls.
Beach bike rally, cultural programme and DJ show will be organised on the first day of the festival. Tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar can take part in the programmes and enjoy thoroughly.
Besides, there will be various attractive arrangements at the fair, including essay writing and painting competition, kite festival, drama on Cox’s Bazar’s tradition, comedy skid, fun games, lantern festival, magic show, fireworks and DJ show in the next six days.
Cultural programmes and musical concerts will be arranged from 10:00pm to 12:00am every day at the Laboni Point of the beach where local and national-level artistes will perform.
On this occasion, hotel and motel owners of Cox’s Bazar have offered 25-70 percent discount to locals and tourists visiting the place while visitors are enjoying 25percent discount on food items at restaurants.
At the same time, the district administration has announced discounts of various amounts on beach kitkat (beach umbrella), photography and other services related to tourism.
