Trump announces halt to immigration from all third-world countries
Following the shooting of two National Guard troops in Washington DC, US President Donald Trump has announced a permanent halt to immigration from all third-world countries.
He made the announcement in a post on Truth Social on November 28, Friday. The move is expected to have a sweeping global impact, as thousands of people from third-world nations migrate to the United States every year for education, employment, and better living conditions.
Yesterday, the two National Guard soldiers were shot by an Afghan national who had previously worked with the US military and CIA while in Afghanistan. When the Taliban seized control in 2021, he arrived in the United States under a special arrangement made by the former Joe Biden administration. The incident has triggered a crisis in the entire immigration system, prompting President Trump’s direct declaration.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “We have made major strides in technology. But because of misguided immigration policies, these achievements are being undone, and many people’s lives are becoming harder.”
“I have decided to completely halt immigration from all third-world countries to give America’s entire system a chance to fix itself.”
“In addition, I will revoke the stay permits of the millions who entered illegally under Joe Biden. Sleepy Biden brought these people in unlawfully.”
“Anyone who does not contribute to the United States or cannot truly love this country will be expelled.”
“All public benefits and financial assistance for foreign nationals will be cut off. Those who disrupt the peace of our country will have their citizenship revoked.”
“Any foreigner who is a burden, a security threat, or unable to integrate into American culture will be removed.”
He wrote that the primary goal is to drastically reduce the number of illegal entrants and those who cause problems—this includes those who entered under special exemptions.
Stating that improving America’s condition requires migrants to return to their home countries, Trump wrote, “The only way to fix this completely is for migrants to go back to where they came from.”
