Trump awarded FIFA Peace Prize
US President Donald Trump has been awarded the FIFA Peace Prize in Washington, DC, ahead of the 2026 World Cup draw, reports BBC.
The award, initiated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, recognises contributions to global peace and efforts to unite people. Trump received a gold trophy, medal and certificate.
In his remarks, Trump said his diplomatic initiatives had helped prevent several conflicts and described the honour as significant.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
