Trump changes voice
US President Donald Trump has taken a new approach to controlling the Strait of Hormuz, reversing his previous stance. He had previously insisted that the United States would take control of the Strait of Hormuz by any means necessary and would not need help from allies.
But now Trump has referred to the Hormuz crisis not only as a problem for the United States, but as a “problem for the whole world" reports BBC.
Analysts believe that he is trying to drag allies into the fight because he cannot solve it alone.
President Trump called NATO allies “cowards” and blamed their inaction to keep the Strait of Hormuz open on Friday.
Some observers see the comments as an expression of his “strategic frustration.”
