Trump declares Strait of Hormuz US territory; Iran calls him mentally ill

US President Donald Trump has declared the strategic Strait of Hormuz as US territory. After making such announcements several times, the White House's social media page also shared this information.

On Thursday, Trump issued the declaration again, stating that Hormuz is now their territory. In response to the US claiming territory thousands of kilometres away, Iran has described Trump as mentally ill. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Trump suffers from schizophrenia, meaning he is mentally unstable.

The Iranian minister said, "The symptoms of this disease are hallucinations and delusions. Doctors recommend that patients with this condition be kept under 24-hour observation and receive treatment."

Following a joint US-Israeli attack on Iran last February, Iran restricted shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which has yet to return to normal. The US has repeatedly stated that Hormuz is now safe. However, whenever a ship has attempted to navigate through the strait, it has come under attack.
