Trump rejects claims US failed to destroy Iran nuclear sites
US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports that recent American airstrikes failed to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, calling the claims "incorrect and misleading," reports BBC.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday (June 25), Trump insisted that three key nuclear sites in Iran had been "precisely targeted" and "completely destroyed" during the operation.
His comments come in response to a leaked assessment from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which suggested that while the strikes caused disruption, Iran's core nuclear infrastructure remained largely intact. The report indicated the attacks had only delayed Tehran's nuclear programme by a few months.
Trump criticised the coverage of the DIA's findings, accusing the media of downplaying what he described as a "historic military success."
"The media is deliberately trying to diminish the dignity of a history-making successful military operation," he said. "Misinformation is being spread by hiding the reality."
He echoed those remarks in a post on Truth Social, alleging that "the media is spreading lies and hiding the truth."
Satellite images reviewed by independent analysts show surface-level damage at sites such as Fordow and Natanz, but the status of underground infrastructure remains unclear.
The Pentagon has not issued a formal public response to the DIA report, which has sparked debate within US intelligence and defence circles over the long-term impact of the strikes.
