Trump showed his true face: Russia
Dmitry Medvedev, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin and deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, has criticised the United States over the attacks on Iran, reports Al Jazeera.
He alleged that the nuclear talks between the US and Iran before the military operation were merely a tactic to mask the issue.
In a message on Telegram, Medvedev said, "The 'messenger of peace' has once again shown his true face."
He further stated, "All the talks with Iran were just a cover. No one had any doubt about this. In reality, no one wanted to reach any agreement."
Medvedev's comments came as Iran and Israel exchanged missile fire on Saturday after Israel, backed by the United States, launched what it described as a pre-emptive attack on Tehran. Explosions were reported across the region, including in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Doha, as the conflict's impact spread beyond Iran and Israel. At least one person was reported killed in Abu Dhabi.
US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces had entered what he described as a new phase of military action, saying the objective was to "defend the American people by removing imminent threats from Iran". Calling Iran the world's "number one state sponsor of terror", Trump said the Iranian regime had waged "an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder".
