US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran for keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed and continuing attacks on neighbouring Arab countries. He threatened strikes on Iran's power plants and bridges if the strait is not reopened by Tuesday.

In an aggressive post on his platform Truth Social, Trump wrote that Iran will have to "live in hell" if it does not reopen the strait. He had previously threatened to unleash "hell" if the strait was not reopened by Monday. Though mediators have claimed progress in the war, Trump has extended the deadline several times, but his latest post reflects extreme anger.

In the same post, Trump said US special forces had rescued a missing serviceman from inside Iranian territory. The officer had been missing since an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet was shot down on Friday. Trump said the rescued officer is a colonel, and though injured, he is out of danger.

Describing the operation, Trump said the pilot was rescued in a second operation after US forces spent seven hours in Iranian airspace during daylight. He also said he will hold a press conference with military officials at the Oval Office on Monday afternoon.
