Trump threatens to open Strait of Hormuz within 48 hrs

US President Donald Trump has warned that if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened within the next 48 hours, strikes will be launched on Iranian power plants.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, he said if Iran does not fully open the strait without any threats within the stipulated time, the United States will carry out successive strikes on major Iranian power plants and other installations.

Earlier, on February 28, Israel participated with the United States in attacks on Iran. Following that incident, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Currently, while limited ship movements are allowed, the situation has not yet normalised.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Iran is also planning to impose tariffs on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
