Trump warns Iran of 'hell' in final 48-hour ultimatum
US President Donald Trump has set a final 48-hour deadline for Iran to agree to a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning otherwise that "hell will break loose" on Iran.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, April 4, Trump wrote, "Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? That time is running out."
"Only 48 hours left, after which hell will break loose on them. God bless! President Donald J. Trump," he added.
On March 27, the US president announced that the US would not carry out any attacks on Iranian energy facilities for 10 days. With that deadline approaching, Trump issued the 48-hour ultimatum.
In a separate post, Trump highlighted the success of his tariff policies on the US economy. At the end of the post, he wrote, "Along with everything else, we are simultaneously bidding farewell to the nuclear-powered country of Iran."
