Trump’s call to all member states of ICC to resign

US President Donald Trump has called on all member states of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to resign by branding it as an ‘uncontrolled’ institution.

He made this call in the speech given at the session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

Trump said the United States will not allow its military forces or any other person to face investigation or trial by such an institution over which the United States has no jurisdiction.

For this reason he called on the member states of the ICC to leave the court immediately.

Trump also criticised the human rights agencies of the United Nations in the speech. His allegation is that these agencies are giving more attention to the criticism of the US policies related to transgender persons and immigration enforcement instead of giving attention to the ‘real atrocities’ of the world.

Trump further alleged that the United Nations Human Rights Council remains silent on this matter although ‘persecution of Christians’ is going on worldwide.
