TVK in Tamil Nadu, UDF in Kerala, NDA ahead in Assam-Puducherry
The initial results of the ongoing elections in different states of India show different pictures. Although the new party Tamilga Vetti Kazhagam (TVK) is ahead in Tamil Nadu, the Congress-led alliance United Democratic Front (UDF) is ahead in Kerala. On the other hand, the BJP-led NDA alliance is in a strong position in Assam and Puducherry.
According to the information received till 11:43am local time on Monday in Tamil Nadu, actor Vijay's party TVK is ahead in 155 seats. The NDA alliance is ahead in 57 seats in this state, reports Hindustan Times.
In Kerala, the UDF is ahead in 76 seats. The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) is ahead in 42 seats and the NDA alliance is ahead in 5 seats.
In the northeastern state of Assam, the NDA alliance is ahead in 83 seats. There, the Congress (INC) is leading in 29 seats.
On the other hand, in the Union Territory of Puducherry, the NDA alliance is leading in 15 seats. There, the DMK-Congress alliance is leading in 3 seats.
These initial results indicate that different political alliances are strengthening their positions in different states. However, the final results may change until the counting of votes is completed.
