Two Bangladeshi umpires to officiate in T20 WC

Two experienced Bangladeshi umpires, Sharafuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat and Gazi Sohel, have been included in the list of match officials for the upcoming T20 World Cup announced by the ICC.

Bangladesh team has been excluded from the tournament after refusing to play in India due to security concerns, with Scotland replacing them.

Despite the team’s absence, Bangladesh will be represented through the two umpires.

The ICC confirmed the list of match referees and umpires in a statement on January 30. Appointment of umpires for the Super Eight and knockout stages will be announced later.

A total of 24 officials will serve as on-field umpires in the group stage, including Richard Kettleborough, Ahsan Raza, Langton Rusere and Adrian Holdstock among others.
