U-20 football team to receive cash reward after SAFF triumph

Youth and Sports State Minister Md Aminul Haque has announced a special cash reward for the Bangladesh U-20 football team following their historic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over India in the final of the SAFF U-20 Championship held in Malé, Maldives.

The minister congratulated all players, coaches, and officials for the remarkable achievement and expressed hope that the government’s support would inspire young players to perform even better in the future.

In a congratulatory message on Friday (April 3), Aminul praised the team’s determination and skill, calling the victory over India a source of national pride and a sign of new opportunities for Bangladeshi football.

He also emphasised that the current government is committed to developing sports nationwide and will continue initiatives to nurture talented footballers from the grassroots level.
