The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed on Saturday (July 26), putting an end to weeks of speculation over the tournament’s venue and schedule.

ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the news via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I am happy to announce that the 2025 ACC Asia Cup men’s tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament will run from September 9 to 28.”

A total of eight teams will participate in this year's competition: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. The full match schedule is expected to be released in the coming days.

This year’s tournament, which will be played in the T20 format, is likely to feature India and Pakistan in the same group—setting the stage for at least two high-stakes clashes between the arch-rivals, one in the group stage and potentially another in the Super Six round. A third encounter in the final remains a strong possibility, promising a major boost in global viewership and broadcast revenues.

The UAE, known for its world-class cricket infrastructure and neutral ground appeal, last hosted the Asia Cup in 2022.
