Ukraine strikes Moscow with drones for second consecutive night
Ukraine carried out drone attacks on Moscow for the second night in a row. On Tuesday (May 6), Russia’s aviation authority Rosaviatsiya reported on social media that four major airports in the capital were briefly shut down for safety reasons but were later reopened.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that 26 Ukrainian drones were destroyed on Monday night.
Moscow’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on social media, “At least 19 Ukrainian drones coming from different directions were destroyed.” He added, “Some debris fell on a main highway leading into the city, but there were no injuries.”
Ukraine has not yet commented on the incident. However, the Mayor of Kharkiv stated, “Russia also carried out drone attacks that night on Kharkiv city and the Kyiv region.”
Reports suggest that these attacks followed news of Ukraine attempting to enter Russia’s Kursk region on Monday.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, “On Sunday (May 4), a drone attack was carried out on a command unit near the Russian village of Tyotkino in the Kursk region.”
