UN launches website to encourage voter participation in Bangladesh poll
The United Nations (UN) has launched a website aimed at encouraging citizens to actively participate in Bangladesh’s national elections.
Election Commission (EC) issued a press release in this regard.
According to it, the website, www.futurebangladeshyouwant.org, has been introduced to promote inclusive civic engagement and help foster a free, fair, and participatory democratic environment.
The platform presents key messages on voting rights, civic duty, democratic values and the importance of participation in simple and accessible language.
According to the UN and the EC, with the objective of active and conscious citizen engagement, the platform is designed to encourage positive dialogue, a sense of responsibility, and future-oriented thinking among citizens.
After registering at the website, the users can share their perspectives on the kind of future Bangladesh they envision. It is intended to function as a neutral and non-political space, open to all citizens regardless of background or affiliation.
