Within 10 days of visiting Bangladesh, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor held consecutive meetings with India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval over two days. India's media outlet Firstpost reported this, citing India's Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press briefing in New Delhi on Tuesday, Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Sergio Gor and Ajit Doval held two "fruitful" meetings on consecutive days.

Jaiswal stated that the partnership between India and the United States is crucial for addressing global security challenges. The two countries share many common goals across various fields, and their mutual communication and bilateral relations are steadily growing.

It was reported that during the meetings, both countries emphasized continuing to work together to achieve common objectives and further enhance diplomatic engagement.

US Ambassador Sergio Gor also confirmed the meetings in a post on the social media platform X, stating that he had a "fruitful" discussion with Ajit Doval concerning US-India strategic cooperation.

Reports in Indian media indicate that meetings between foreign diplomats stationed in India and senior Indian officials are not unusual. However, Sergio Gor's back-to-back two-day meetings are being viewed with special significance.

This is because Gor is not only the US Ambassador to India but also serves as US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia. Consequently, his sequential meetings with India's National Security Advisor following his recent visit to Bangladesh have generated heightened interest in regional diplomacy.
