US Army Chief Gen Randy George removed from post
US Army Chief of Staff General Randy George has been removed from his post as part of a major leadership reshuffle at the Pentagon, reports Reuters.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dismissed George, although the Pentagon officially described the move as a retirement.
In a statement on Thursday (April 2), it said the 41st Army Chief of Staff is “retiring effective immediately,” despite having more than a year remaining in his term.
The Pentagon expressed gratitude for George’s decades of military service and wished him well in retirement.
No specific reason was provided for his sudden departure.
