US, China to work together to end Ukraine war: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said Washington and Beijing will work jointly to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

He made the remarks after a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea, on Thursday, reports BBC.

Trump said much of their discussion centered on the Ukraine conflict, and both leaders agreed to cooperate toward peace. “President Xi assured me of China’s support in working together on the Ukraine issue,” Trump told reporters.

The US recently imposed sanctions on Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil, accusing Moscow of funding its “war machine” in Ukraine through oil revenues.

Trump added that joint US-China efforts would not only benefit both countries but also help stabilise the world amid ongoing global crises.
