The United States has claimed to have destroyed a control centre of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) following massive explosions in Tehran.

The US military's Central Command made the claim after the blasts rocked the Iranian capital.

According to the statement, Iran's defence and missile launch centres, drone operation hubs, and military airbases were also targeted and destroyed in the strikes.

According to information released by Central Command, US forces carried out successive operations to dismantle these facilities.

A post on social media stated, "In operations by US forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' command and control centre, Iran's air defence capabilities, missile and drone launch centres, and military airbases have been destroyed."

Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising after the explosions in Tehran, with birds in the vicinity fleeing in panic. The blasts created an atmosphere of fear in the area.

The attacks are likely to further escalate tensions in the international arena. Iran has already threatened retaliatory strikes against Israel and the United States and has issued alerts in various strategic locations across the Middle East, including the Strait of Hormuz.

With US and Israeli military operations and Iran's response, fears of a major military conflict in the Middle East have grown.
