US conducted ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’ airstrike on Iran using B-2 bomber
General Dan Keene, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, has revealed that the recent attack on Iran’s nuclear facility was carried out under a mission named “Operation Midnight Hammer.” According to Keene, a B-2 bomber took off from the United States on Friday (local time) and after an 18-hour flight, struck the designated target in Iran.
Keene made these remarks during a press conference at the Pentagon on Sunday. He explained that multiple branches of the U.S. military coordinated and executed the operation.
The general also noted that Iran’s defense forces did not offer any resistance during the attack. “There was no indication of gunfire from Iranian defense forces,” he said. Furthermore, he stated that Iranian warplanes did not take to the skies, and their missile defense systems appeared unable to detect the incoming bomber.
This operation follows an earlier Israeli airstrike on Iran on June 13, which killed several Iranian nuclear scientists and senior military officials. In retaliation, Iran launched attacks on Israel, leading to an ongoing cycle of strikes and counterstrikes.
