US Embassy warns foreign students, including Bangladeshis

The US Embassy in Dhaka has warned Bangladeshi and other foreign students studying in the United States about the possible cancellation of their student visas.

In a post shared on social media on Saturday (August 22), the embassy cautioned students about the issue.

The message said a student’s visa could be cancelled if they stop attending their course, remain regularly absent from classes, or withdraw from their academic programme without informing their educational institution. They could also become ineligible for a US visa in the future.

The US Embassy advised students to strictly comply with all the conditions of their visas. It also stressed the importance of maintaining valid student status in the United States to avoid potential complications.

The embassy further said that students must remain aware of the conditions of their visas while staying in the United States and should inform their educational institutions of any changes to their academic programmes.
