US helicopter searching for missing pilots shot down

US official has admitted to various media outlets that a US fighter jet was shot down in Iran. It has been claimed that a US rescue helicopter that was in the area to search for the pilots of that plane was also shot down.

This claim was made in a report by Iran's Mehr News Agency. The report said that the helicopter was shot down by a missile.

The report also said that a powerful missile was fired at the US helicopter that was searching for the missing pilot and crew. The US had already been conducting a massive search operation in the area to rescue the pilot of the fighter jet.

The current condition of the helicopter after the attack and the casualties on board could not be immediately confirmed.

No official statement has been received from the Pentagon or the US Central Command about the attack so far.

Earlier, Tasnim News reported that the US had been searching for the missing pilots for several hours using Black Hawk helicopters and C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. However, the Iranian armed forces claimed that the rescue effort had been a complete failure.
