The United States and Israel have claimed the destruction of the headquarters of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to AFP and the BBC, the US military said that on the second day of operations aimed at changing Iran’s regime, it struck the IRGC headquarters.

In a statement, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said, “America has the strongest military in the world, and the IRGC no longer has a headquarters,” adding that over the past 47 years, the IRGC has killed over a thousand American soldiers, and the recent strike targeted the organisation’s leadership.

Israel’s Defense Forces also claimed responsibility via Telegram, saying it had destroyed Iran’s military headquarters, which housed troops loyal to the Iranian leadership.

The strikes reportedly killed Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and IRGC Commander Mohammad Pakpour.

Additional targets included IRGC intelligence headquarters, the Air Force control center, internal security command posts, and other major military facilities.

The IDF stated it would continue to target “the military infrastructure and fighters of Iran’s militant rulers,” signaling potential further escalation in the conflict.
