US military action in Iran could end within weeks: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing military operation in Iran could conclude within the next two to three weeks.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Wednesday (April 1), he said the US is winding down its offensive activities. “We are wrapping up our operations in Iran. I expect this mission to be completed in the next two to three weeks,” Trump said.

Officials have indicated that key military objectives have nearly been achieved, prompting consideration of ending the campaign. However, they warned that any Iranian counteraction during this period could alter plans.

Trump added that there is no obligation for Iran to enter into any agreement, and the US can end the conflict without a negotiated settlement.

He emphasised that the primary goal of the operation—preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—has been achieved, asserting that Iran currently has no nuclear arsenal.
