US moves to deploy entire JASSM-ER cruise missile stockpile against Iran
The United States has decided to deploy nearly its entire stockpile of advanced JASSM-ER cruise missiles in the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to sources familiar with the matter.
To sustain operations, Washington is reportedly diverting missiles from reserves earmarked for other regions. Assets are being redeployed from the US Pacific Command to the Central Command’s area of operations, as well as to the Fairford airbase in the United Kingdom.
Before the conflict, the US possessed around 2,300 JASSM-ER missiles. More than 1,000 have been used over the past four weeks.
Military analysts say the remaining stock supports only a limited number of large-scale missions, with replenishment likely taking years.
Reports indicate US aircraft, including an F-15E, an A-10, and two rescue helicopters, have been damaged, and over a dozen MQ-9 drones destroyed, questioning US air dominance.
In response, Iran has launched about 1,600 ballistic missiles and 4,000 Shahed drones.
Analysts warn that sustained production may not keep pace with the conflict, raising long-term concerns over US military readiness.
