US president greets marking Bengali New Year
US President Joe Biden has expressed his greetings on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
He wished Bengali New Year in a post on social media X on Sunday (April 14).
“Jill and I wish everyone gathered around the world celebrating Baisakhi, Navratri, Sankran and the upcoming New Year this week,” Biden wrote in a message on social media X (formerly Tweeter).
“We wish you happiness. Happy Bengali, Khmer, Lao, Myanmarese, Nepali, Sinhalese, Tamil, Thai and Bishu New Years,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, various cultural organisations are celebrating Bengali New Year with due dignity today. The Bengali New Year ceremony begins with the obligatory performance of the National Anthem and the song 'Eso Hey Boishakh'.
