US President Trump posts on Truth Social about Bangladesh

An agreement has been signed to purchase 11 more aircraft from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier of Bangladesh. Centring this deal, US President Donald Trump has described Boeing's new aircraft sales agreements with Bangladesh and Turkey as a "historic" event for the company.

Trump made these remarks in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday, September 24. In the same post, he noted that Boeing's new orders are important for US manufacturing, exports and employment.

According to Trump, with the cooperation of the US Department of Commerce and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Bangladesh and Turkey together have announced the purchase of a total of 111 Boeing aircraft. He also said an option to purchase another 50 aircraft has been kept.

The US President claimed that the new deal will generate large export earnings for the United States and create employment opportunities in various regions of the country. Emphasising manufacturing in the US, exports from the country and support for American workers, he congratulated Boeing and the company's employees.

Earlier on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Bangladesh signed a supplementary agreement to purchase 11 more aircraft from Boeing. Under the agreement, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will purchase five Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners and six Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
