US refueling aircraft crashes in Iraq, four crew killed

A US KC-135 refueling aircraft involved in operations against Iran crashed over Iraq on Thursday, killing four of its six crew members.

This information was confirmed on Friday (March 13) by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM, the crash occurred around 2:00pm (local time) in western Iraq, and recovery operations are ongoing.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the crash was not caused by enemy fire or friendly forces.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
