US revokes visa of Colombian President Petro
The United States has revoked the visa of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, citing reckless and provocative behaviour.
The US State Department confirmed the decision on its social media Platform 'X' on Saturday (September 27), reports Al Jazeera.
According to a US State Department statement, Petro reportedly participated in a protest outside the United Nations headquarters in New York on Saturday morning. Despite orders from US security forces to clear the street, he reportedly refused to comply.
Meanwhile, Petro criticised Israel sharply in a UN speech on Friday, labeling Israelis as “Nazis” and accusing them of genocide against Palestinians.
He also called for the formation of an international military coalition led by Asian countries to liberate Palestine and urged a halt to arms shipments to Israel.
