The United States has placed sanctions on three prominent Palestinian human rights groups—Al-Haq, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR)—for their cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in investigating alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

The Treasury Department confirmed the move after the organizations formally asked the ICC to pursue investigations, reports TRT World.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the groups were added to the sanctions list under an executive order signed by President Trump in February.

He criticized their involvement in ICC proceedings against Israeli leaders as exceeding legal boundaries and undermining national sovereignty.

All three organisations had submitted evidence to support the ICC’s 2024 arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials over alleged Gaza war crimes.

Amnesty International denounced the sanctions as a harsh blow to human rights advocacy.

Erika Guevara‑Rosas called them “a naked attack on the entire Palestinian human rights movement” and a dangerous precedent for international justice pursuits.
