US warns citizens worldwide over Middle East tensions

The United States has advised its citizens around the world to remain vigilant amid concerns that ongoing tensions in the Middle East could escalate further and spark new conflicts. Al Jazeera reported the news.

In a warning issued by the US State Department, American citizens, particularly those in the Middle East, were urged to exercise maximum caution. They were also advised to prepare for possible flight cancellations, temporary airspace closures and various travel disruptions.

The State Department also called on US citizens outside the Middle East to reconsider any plans to travel to the region or to transit through it.

The warning further stated that Iran and Tehran-backed groups could potentially launch attacks on US interests, diplomatic facilities and locations associated with US citizens abroad.
